Primaris Psyker 1

Built a Primaris Psyker! He's throwing a ball of fire or something. I think he looks kind of cool...

I've got a couple of these psyker types in the pipe line and they represent my first dabbling in some higher level conversions and the like.

I built Stuff

At the beginning of summer I bought a vast pile of stuff in order to give me some options for a half decent core of a Imperial Guard army and to provide some bits for various other needs.

So first off I built a bunch of dudes. Various normal soldier dudes, special weapons and vox casters. Also used some legs from the stormtrooper box set to finally finish the cadian special weapon squad i've had for about 2 years or something. There are about 5 heavy weapon dudes just out of shot.

Built a wyvern!

Built a chimera!

Dug out an ancient Colossus siege mortar that i stripped and primed ready for repainting. Look how fat the old chap is! I'm not sure if the chunky side parts are separate pieces or not.

I also built a Leman Russ tank, but apparently I didnt take any photos. Oh well.

Summer Is Over

So summer is pretty much wrapping up and I'm finding myself with the free time required to get back into some hobby stuff again. I know that my scheduled posts dried up some time ago, but fear not, my summer was not spent entirely 40kless! Between music festivals, weekends away, walking up hills, running up hills, visiting people, a couple of BBQs and general shenanigans i kind of managed to keep things going at a low level so I've got  a few things to draw from and post about starting from next week.

Its also been about 9 months of me doing this blog stuff which has seen me get 400 odd page views and 3 followers! Thanks you guys. What with the year mark coming up i think i'll start thinking about some sort of review and goals type thing. 

Anyway keep reading for an idea of the distractions that prevented me from full on hobby awesomeness...

Squad Leaders

Two more squad leaders now mean (assuming my maths is ok) that I can have four infantry squads in my platoon. I made an effort to do some conversions and make them not clones.

First up is a dude with a power fist. It counts as a conversion cos I gave him an old bolt pistol that i dug up from my bits box

This second dude has had a bit more work. One arm from a necromunda ganger, another from the scion box which I turned into a brutal looking power maul and then some beardy head gives this squad leader veteran air.

 

Comissars

Built a couple of comissars...  A new one and an old one. I really like them both.

Although I am comitted to do some more experimentation with minor conversions I decided to keep these two standard.
