Underhive Board

For absolutely ages I've been hankering after a new board. The one i currently have, which you may have seen in my battle blogs, is perfectly serviceable but I really wanted to try something new out.

However, coupled with some serious analysis paralysis (Modular? In built terrain? wtf is all this new sector mechanicus stuff? Sewers? Multi level?) I never really got to grips with doing anything. However, having found and joined the awesome yaktribe community (I'm still a bit of lurker, but I'm going to kick off a thread with this stuff on this evening), and seen the majorly awesome stuff, I decided to make some decisions and get started.

The basis of of my board is a bunch of these TT Combat tiles. Awesome company, awesome product.

I then decided to texture the board with some wall paper (the same that I used for my Imperial Guard dudes. Why I didn't think of this earlier I have no idea!) and textured plasticard, and then using some plasticard strips to add some further texture and to add as a framing device between panels.

Also, I've cut some holes into some of the boards. The plan here us to add some exposed detail beneath the base level, but also perhaps to add some vertical elements that can slot in.

Anyhoo, I've now assembled the first 8 tiles ready for some priming...

So colour wise I'm going for mostly black with a heavy silver drybrush for the currently beige stuff, and the textured plasticard will be a pale blue. Plus loads of rusty pigment action.

Termie Characters

Hey hey. I finished off two more models! The forge world terminator sorcerer and a terminator chaos lord. These guys have been in progress for so damn long! 

I love the sorcerer dude. Such an excellent model. 

I got the Lord in an ebay haul a while back (minus the hammer, that was my tweak), but I didn't realise until I came to paint it how shoddily it was put together. But I think that it turned out ok.

I also went hiking near Beddgelert and saw some cool rusty things...

I also got a load of those tt combat bases and made a start on assembling some for my new board...

Also Orktober approaches. Eeeeeeek!!

So that makes 19 models done in 2018. Rubbish!

Squaduary 2018 Week 1

Hi all. I've been making some decent progress on my Squaduary pledge. I think I've got a good rythm with doing some of the raised detail bits, with the plan to then fill in the background that will be mostly silver and black. Consequently they don't really look very Iron Warrior-y as of yet.

State Of The Union: The Forces of the Imperium

Positioned somewhere between my Orks and Iron Warriors in terms of numbers of models still to finish are Imperial forces, mostly represented by my guard. Most of my 7th edition games were with these guys. I've got a decent core of an army. Or at least I did since I'm sure what might have changed in the move to 8th edition. My hit list for these guys include more regular soldiers and more Leman Russ tanks

Squaduary 2018

Its that time of the year again. Squaduary once again. :)

Having missed out on it last time I'm hoping to get involved and use it to kick start my 40k effort for the year.
